InnerFace-book

I am continually fascinated and frustrated with Facebook.  People seem to enjoy themselves and their
connections – posting GPS-type photos and messages, well wishes, pokes, and billboards full of formatted inspiration, demonstration, and humor.  It’s fun, no doubt.  There is also another element that displays
the wrenching reality and accounts of dissonance around the world that I have not personally encountered,
but genuinely value.

The TechTerm.com definition is bland in comparison to all the fuss, including the occasional addictive
behavior that can ensue. “Facebook is a social networking website.  Facebook users can create and customize
their own profiles with photos, videos, and information about themselves.  Friends can browse the profiles of other
friends and write messages on their pages.”

Here’s my dilemma (and it’s all about me, right?).  My Facebook page is two-dimensional.  In reviewing the
past year with Facebook, the only time I truly engage is when I post a blog.  Even that has become redundant.
“Thanks for checking it out,” I type every time after giving the new title.

The true insight came when I realized my relationships in general were two-dimensional.  Wait, let me
rephrase this perspective.  There is much, much more that I think, feel, and imagine than I express, and in
comparison it makes them seem two-dimensional. (That’s better).  In essence, there is more “real estate”(reality) than meets the eye.  I’ve recently learned that when you purchase real estate, you own all the space above
and below what you see on the land surface.  According to a student guide for real estate practices and principals, “the surface of the earth extending downward to the center of the earth and upward to infinity” is the definition
for land.  Interesting, for this is also my approach to the self.  You own or have the option to all that the corporeal and incorporeal self offers.  I am confident there are more natural resources within the domain of ourselves than we use or acknowledge.  

So, I purchased the domain name InnerFace-book.com.  I’m not sure what my plans for development are at this time. But having the domain name and playing with the idea of posting snapshots beyond the surface of events makes me a happy camper.
